Rootwork is made by one person, so replies may take a few days — but every message is read.

Using the Early Access beta? The fastest route is the Send Beta Feedback option inside the TestFlight app. It attaches your device model, iOS version, and a screenshot automatically, which usually saves a round of questions.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and only on your device. Rootwork has no accounts and no server. Nothing you record is uploaded anywhere. See the privacy policy for the specifics.

How do I get my data out?

Open Settings → Export data. Rootwork writes a file and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet, so you can save it to Files, email it to yourself, or send it to a doctor. The export is yours; it does not pass through us.

How do I delete everything?

Open Settings → Clear all data. That permanently removes every entry and deletes stored journal photos from the device. Deleting the app removes its data too.

There is no backup on our side. That is the point of the design, but it does mean deletion is final — export first if you might want it back.

Will my data survive an app update?

Yes. Updating through TestFlight or the App Store keeps everything. Deleting the app — including "offload" — does not.

Does it sync between my devices?

No. Syncing would require sending your health data to a server, which Rootwork does not do. Moving to a new phone means exporting from the old one and importing on the new one.

Why does it ask for my location?

Only to name the city on an entry and fetch local weather and barometric pressure, which many people find correlates with their symptoms. It is optional, it is off unless you turn it on, and you can revoke it any time in iOS Settings. Your coordinates go to the weather and place-name services for that lookup and nothing else — never your health entries.

Is Rootwork a medical device?

No. It is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. Anything it shows you describes what you recorded — it is not a clinical finding. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your symptoms and treatment.

Which devices are supported?

Early Access is on iPhone (iOS 15 or later), Windows 10 or 11 and Linux, with Android planned for later in 2026.

I found a bug

Please report it — genuinely useful. If you can, include what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. Screenshots help a lot. In the beta, Send Beta Feedback in TestFlight is the easiest way.
